Hard Candy’s Look Pro Rose Gold Palette is Gorgeous! (And it’s a dupe for a much more expensive brand!)

Rose gold is ubiquitous. It’s showing up not only in jewelry, but also in fashion, hair color, nail polish, iPhone cases and, yes, makeup. Mention rose gold to a makeup lover and they will rave about Huda Beauty’s Rose Gold eyeshadow palette which, even with its price of $65.00, is often sold out on her website. It’s #goals on Instagram. Sephora can’t keep it in stock and it’s no wonder. It is a collection of gorgeous squares of color, dripping with metallic lusciousness and offers something for every skin tone. For summer, and frankly, all year round, rose gold eyeshadow is ultimately flattering and fabulous. 

Want the look but don’t want to wait the wait for – or pay the price for – Huda’s rose gold palette? No problem. Hard Candy has come out with their own gorgeous rose gold eyeshadow palette. Gently priced at just $10.00 for 15 eyeshadows that include 9 metallic and 6 matte shades as well as two double-headed brushes, this palette is #goals unto itself. 

The metallics in the Hard Candy Look Pro Rose Gold Palette are beautiful. Ranging from bold to gentle, there’s something in this palette that should appeal to all makeup lovers.

Here are a few suggestions for use: Apply a lighter shade on your lid and under your brow bone. Use one of the matte shades on the crease and swipe one of the darker metallics under your eye and for a flattering daytime look. Or, go all out for evening – or for fun – with a full metallic eye. The palette comes with a dark brown matte shadow as well as a black one. Wet an eyeliner brush and use these to line your eyes or brush them on in a line across the upper lid as a nice counterpoint to the shimmer. 

Think shimmer isn’t for you? I’ve read, too many times, that women of a certain age (what age is that, I would like to know) should not wear shimmer on their eyes or anywhere on their face, to be frank. I beg to differ. If you like shimmer, shine on and don’t be dictated to by outdated rules and thinking. And, think outside the box too. Swipe a bit of diamond, the lightest shade in the Hard Candy Look Pro Rose Gold palette across your cheekbones to highlight them. I personally love the look of red shadows on the eyelid and lower lid. Not a fan of red around your eyes? Pat a little of Hard Candy’s shades Heartbeat, a deep cranberry or Roses, a rosy pink on your cheeks and lips. Who says eyeshadow is for eyes only? When it comes to beauty, make your own rules. This palette lends itself to being used in a lot of different ways. You just have to think outside the box. 

In my opinion Hard Candy has a gold mine – a rose gold mine – in their Look Pro Rose Gold Palette. And, for only $10.00, why not have a little fun, get out of your comfort zone of neutrals and basics and go for the gold. Rose Gold! I do believe you’ll fall in love with it.
