IVANA HELSINKI SPRING/SUMMER 2014

Ivana Helsinki Spring Summer 2014 Collection’s inspiration is drawn from the visual artistry, story line and cinematography of the film ‘The Bridges of Madison County.” Designer Paola Suhonen’s Ivana Helsinki Spring Summer 2014 collection highlights signature prints, feminine dresses, light cotton pieces, sensual embroidered tunics and edgy printed jersey pieces. The collection also features a capsule collection of denim, a first for the brand.“The moral dilemma in the film The Bridges of Madison County haunted me for ages” said Suhonen. “How love can be sensual, life giving and wounding at the same time; this contradiction fascinated me and kept spinning in my head while I was driving through the endless corn fields surrounded country roads.” The collections’ strong mood reflects love, nostalgic flavors from our youth, and a praise to beautiful, hobo, butterfly girls.

  1. Very nice! And once again thank you for expanding my horizons. Now I want to watch that movie again – it’s been a long time!

  2. Dreamy fashions. Dreamy article. And the photos say so much about what to wear- and what not to wear- with “what.”

  3. I agree. I like this collection too. Interesting brand. They’re into all sorts of things, including housewares. Check out the link, if you’re interested. Very cool. xo

  4. I like this collection too – but must admit that I haven’t seen the movie. (We get show sheets that include the designer’s inspiration and the specs for each look sent down the runway. It’s an immeasurable help, as you can imagine.) Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Means so much to me … xo, Melody
