What do the Kardashians, Babies and Booty Enhancing Shape Wear Have in Common? (I’m not sure, but read on and see if I weave it all together.)

 BOOTY, BOOTY, BOUNTIFUL BOOTY

Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West at the CFDA Awards, June 2013.

As you must already know, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed a baby girl into their lives – and it’s probably only a matter of time before she will be introduced to every media outlet in the civilized world. Born five weeks early, the baby, whose name and newborn photos have yet to be released, is still in the hospital and is said to be doing well. Of course, speculation abounds. Will her name start with K? Who does she look like? What magazine/media outlet will get the first photos? What role will Grandmomager Kris play in the littlest princess’s life? While these and other questions occupy the media and the people who love – and loathe – the Kardashians, I’m content to hear nothing more of little Kimyette until such a time as her parents release her first photos. And, until then, I’m good and, of course, wish the new family every happiness.

I’m more interested in Khloe Kardashian. The youngest of the Kardiashian sisters, Khloe has had more than her fair share of media derision, mostly aimed at her looks. (Can someone please tell me what is wrong with her looks?) She’s a beautiful, fit, curvy woman – and have you seen her lately? – she looks better than ever.

Frankly, I owe a debt of gratitude to the Kardashian sisters. (And to Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and other bootylicious public figures who made it ok and indeed, sexy, for women to have curves again.) When I was a kid, boyish, stick figures were the beauty ideal for women. I did everything in my power to hide my butt, including dieting and exercising myself into an unhealthy state. And, of course, it didn’t work. My round butt remained to defy me.

When I was younger and bemoaning my body as I tried on bathing suits in an upscale department store, a sales associate told me, “Don’t worry, honey. When you get older, it will all start to sag and will look flatter.”  Something to look forward to? I didn’t – and don’t – think so. But now that I’m older, I want to keep things where they were.

As we age things tend to head south and perhaps only an endless amount of squats, lunges and leg presses can stave off the relentless descent. But shape wear helps …

The Alexandra from hourglassangel.com

Hourglassangel.com is a company that offers an assortment of booty enhancing shape wear. Their bestseller is called the Alexandra. It maintains and enhances your bottom line while slimming your waist and flattening your stomach simultaneously. (Could it be one of the secrets of Khloe Kardashian’s new look? I can’t say for sure, of course, but any number of products from this line are worth a try.)

Here’s how a company spokesperson describes the Alexandra: “The Alexandra garment slims and smoothes the silhouette and enhances the rear simultaneously. The Alexandra’s unique open-back design boosts, lifts and rounds your rear with special bands raising the gluteus up to 5cm. (That’s almost two inches!) No padding necessary: these curves are uniquely yours.”

The Alexandra is available at hourglassangel.com/alexandra – and it’s currently on sale for $48.74.

Check it out and rock your kurves like a Kardashian.
