Get the Look: Jennifer Aniston Oscars 2013

Jennifer Aniston’s hair look, created by Chris McMillan, stylist for Living Proof, caused quite a ruckus on the Oscars’ red carpet last night. The talking heads/fashion and beauty critics over at the E Network trashed it saying it should have been up, it’s too casual for her Valentino Couture dress, the event. It seemed that many people had the same opinion while others thought, “It’s exactly what I want to see from Jennifer Aniston, a natural, California beauty.”

Love it or think it was wrong for the evening, Jennifer Aniston has enviable hair – and you can get the look by following these tips from Chris McMillan:

INSPIRATION: “The key word is natural. She’ll be one of the only people there who is able to actually touch her hair. Jen’s Valentino gown was such a daring fashion choice, so we wanted her hair to make her feel comfortable. I created a look that would last the entire night, from the red carpet to when she presents.“

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “First, I washed her hair with Living Proof Full Shampoo and Conditioner. I then applied Prime Style Extender to wet hair and massaged through for a lasting style, while still allowing the hair to have movement. Using a large round brush, I blew out the hair straight with a deep, side bang. Finally, I applied Hold Flexible Hairspray to the roots for height and lightly sprayed the rest of the hair.”

PRODUCTS: LIVING PROOF FULL SHAMPOO ($24), FULL CONDITIONER ($24), PRIME STYLE EXTENDER ($20), HOLD FELXIBLE HAIRSPRAY ($24)

  1. I loved it! In the past she has tried different hair styles at the Oscars & it looked forced/unnatural! I think she looks her loveliest with it sleek & down.

The messy in the front updo’s are so blah! Sleek & polished is for the Oscars whether that means up or down !

  2. Right – and like Farrah with the feathered hair, this is her signature look. I wasn’t crazy about the dress – but that’s another story. xo, Melody
