Borghese Rapido Fast Dry Nail Lacquer in Lira

I recently received two samples of nail color from the Borghese Rapido Fast Dry Nail Lacquer collection. Honestly, I’m not a fan of quick-dry polishes having found them to be dull, chalky and streaky. On top of that, I’ve never had one last more than a day so I was eager to road test these polishes and report the results.

The collection includes the following colors: Vigneto, a mid to deep purple; Marino, a pretty ocean blue; Mochaccino, a medium brown; Chroma, a sparkly silver; Lira, a glittery gold; Menta, a sparkly mint green; Violetto, a pastel purple; Maraschino, a cherry red; Siena, a metallic bronze; Rosso, a timeless red, Anemone, a flattering pink; and Limoncello, a quite fabulous metallic yellow.

The Borghese Rapido Fast Dry Nail Lacquer collection offers long-wearing, nail-strengthening polishes that contain Borghese’s exclusive Aqua di Vita complex to help restore moisture and balance. Micronized Gemstones add strength and brilliance. Each shade comes with a special Duale Curve Tip Brush that’s custom designed to hug the shape of your nail for smooth application that lasts up to seven days. And the best news is that each of the shades is free of DBP’s, Toluene and added Formaldehyde.

On to the test … I received Violetto and Lira. Truth – I don’t much care for purple polishes, unless they’re blackened, dark and deeply hued. But, I enlisted the fingernails of a friend and painted away. Violetta went on smoothly. The first coat, as with any polish, was decidedly sheer and I waited until it dried to apply the second coat. I didn’t have to wait long. The color popped after the second coat, which also dried quickly. I thought the color looked best with three coats and, again, drying time was quick. The result was a shiny, streak-free and color-saturated manicure that looked pretty great on my friend’s nails, so much so that I may reconsider my stance on purple polish. I applied the color three days ago and my girlfriend says her manicure is still intact.

My turn. It was Lira for me. I LOVE this rich metallic gold. I get regular manicures and resent the drying time each and every week. But, if I don’t give my nails the appropriate time to dry, I wreck ’em fastening the seatbelt in my car. Cost of manicure down the drain. But no more! Not only have I found my summer color, but I’m going to be in and out of the salon in a jiffy. Lira required two coats and dried to a smooth, glittery, glossy and almost mirror-like finish. I love rocking this shade. I will definitely try other shades in the collection (Limoncello, I’m talkin’ to you!)

The Borghese Rapido Fast Dry Nail Lacquer collection is available at Ulta for $8. per bottle.

  1. Hi Joy – At the time I wrote the post, the polish collection was available at Ulta.com. I just checked their website and see that it’s no longer available and, like you said, I haven’t been able to track it down. I will keep trying and will post a link if I find it. In the meantime, if you find it, please get back to me and let me know. Thanks! Melody
