I’ve spent the past two weeks shopping for appropriate – read chic but comfortable – outfits to wear to the various Fashion Week events that are happening in NYC this week.  I’m opting for dresses because they’re easy, look professional yet stylish and are comfortable. Shoes are always a challenge. While I love my heels, they start to hurt after several hours of running around in them. But I’ve found a new line of eco-friendly shoes that might make dashing from place to place a bit easier on my feet. And since it’s all about accessories, here are some of my faves – for Fashion Week and beyond.

Blake Brody Footwear

Entrepreneur Blake Brody has just launched a new collection of In-Studio footwear. Her collection is a unique product line designed specifically for in-studio activities like Yoga, Pilates, Kickboxing, Gyrotechnics – but I intend to walk miles in them. They also make amazing travel shoes. They are designed to mimic the effects of being barefoot, allowing a full range of motion and connectivity to the floor while the padding is anti-cramping. All products used are 100% natural, anti-microbial , eco-friendly,  and 100% vegan (and SO chic!) Blake Brody’s line is available at select boutiques nationwide and at http://www.blakebrody.com. Prices range from $98. to $135.

senz windproof umbrella

The weather for last year’s F/W Fashion Week was deplorable with snow, high winds, and freezing cold temperatures. While the weather forecast for the next several days isn’t that dire, it is winter in New York and it’s best to not be caught without an umbrella. The senz° umbrella, with its unique aerodynamic design, easily slices through all winds always finding the best position in the wind. The light but very strong frame prevents the senz° from turning inside out and makes it windproof up to 100 km/h. The senz° original is equipped with a UV protection of UPF 50+, to provide you the best possible protection during all seasons. Available at retailers nationwide and online including Overstock.com.

Emilio Pucci Scarf

Scarves are great accessories to not only change up a look but to keep toasty warm on these cold winter days and nights. And since spring fashions are showing a return to the 60s and 70s, how about rocking a beautifully-designed Flakes Puccikami Oblong Scarf? It’s available at Saks Fifth Avenue for $280.

Parker Sonnet Sterling Silver Pen

The Parker Sonnet Sterling Silver Pen is beautiful with its precious 925/1000 Sterling Silver chiseled finish and its sleekly paired emblematic Parker arrow clip. Prices range from $208 to $341.

Rucinni Business Card Case

I won’t pull just any old business card case out of my handbag.  Oh no. I love anything with a little bit of bling and that extends to my business card cases. I received a Rucinni business card case as a gift a few years back and it never fails to elicit compliments or start conversations whenever I pull it out of my handbag.  It’s the perfect case where bling meets function.  Available at Wish Treasures.com, $35.99.
