I received a complimentary Tria Age Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser for review for this post. However, as always, that didn’t affect my opinion which I state honestly below.

One of the first areas on the face to show signs of aging is the eye area. Crow’s feet, crepey skin and skin that sags all conspire to make us look older. I am not a huge fan of eye cream, as regular readers of EverBeautiful.com know. It’s not because they don’t work. I think they do; I have friends who swear that they do, but in my case, eye creams tend to migrate into my eyes, stinging and clouding my vision. I cannot tolerate them for any length of time. I get Botox and again, that’s no secret. I’ve written about it several times and that works like a charm to smooth wrinkles under and around my eyes. But Botox is expensive and, if it’s not administered artfully (yes, I believe there’s an art to this particular science) it can leave you with drooping eyelids or lowered eyebrows. Not pretty.

But, what if there was a device, a small hand-held device that with the use of a laser, can reduce crow’s feet and crepey under eye skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production, is FDA cleared and, as a couple of added bonuses is dermatologist approved and affordable? Wouldn’t you want to try it?

I would and so, when I received an email from the people at tria offering me complimentary product to try, I dashed back an email saying, “Yes, please!” I received my tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser a short time later and gave it a whirl.

The tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser is a small, comfortably hand-held device that employs fractional laser technology, the same kind used by dermatologists, to treat facial lines and wrinkles. When the tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser is applied to the under eye area, targeted beams of light penetrate the skin’s surface to “create microscopic zones of cellular disruption.”  This spurs the body’s natural healing processes to generate new collage and elastin and the result is smoother skin. (That bit in quotes and the sentence that follows? I got that info from tria’s website.)

I also read many reviews before applying tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser to my eye area and the vast majority of them were favorable with customers noticing a marked difference in the quality of their under eye skin. I was good to go.

I turned on my tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser and applied it to my under eye area in exactly the way it was described in the directions. Ouch! It hurt. I’ve had laser treatments to eliminate some redness on my face before and it felt like that, only worse. When I had the treatments, my aesthetician told me it would feel like someone was snapping a rubber band against my skin. That’s accurate and utterly tolerable – on my cheeks. But when it comes to my under eye skin, I’m more sensitive and, after I did one eye (tria is on a timer and it takes one minute to treat each eye), I was hesitant to try it on the other eye. But I’m a trooper and was determined to reduce the crepey skin under my eyes so I gamely forged ahead. I’d read about the discomfort and it wasn’t really that bad, once I knew what was to happen. I think fear played a part in my pain tolerance. I have an eye thing. Can’t stand anyone going near them. I don’t even like having my makeup applied, let alone having my eyes examined. But, once I knew what sensation to expect, I was fine with it. I finished up the other eye and reread the directions. They say to use the tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser every night for eight weeks and to follow each treatment with a nourishing eye cream. Ugh, eye cream, but I followed directions.

Tria

I’d read that some people had discomfort or redness after using tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser but I didn’t experience either of those things. I used it for about a week, not nearly long enough for it to work, but a quick perusal of my upcoming schedule had me calling my Botox doctor for an appointment.

I hadn’t gotten Botox in five months and was willing to forego it and use the tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser. But my schedule and my vanity – got the better of me. My schedule was filled with wonderful things – my niece’s bat mitzvah, two graduations for my daughter who was receiving her MBA from Stern/NYU, a family party and a reunion with a dear friend I hadn’t seen in decades and who is Gorgeous – yes, with a capital G. Honestly, I was fine without the Botox for all except the luncheon with my friend. I wanted to look as good as I could and dashed off to my Botox doctor the week before the luncheon. I recalled reading in the tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser instruction manual  – Read it cover to cover. We’re talking about our eyes here – that it should not be used in conjunction with Botox or other cosmetic procedures. But the manual didn’t specify for how long. Could I use it in a week? A month? Or after the Botox wore off fully?  I asked my doctor.

I go to a cosmetic laser center and the advice I received there was to use the tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser no sooner than a month after receiving Botox. My doctor was not entirely certain about this timeline but, not wanting to disrupt my newly-injected Botox, I put my tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser back on the closet shelf. I’ll use it again in three weeks.

So, I can’t give you a personal review but I can tell you to check the reviews yourself. Learn about the tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser and read reviews. Check out the website. If you use Botox or have had any other cosmetic treatment to the eye area, check with your doctor before using the tria Age-Defying Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser.

And, if you’d like to try it, you can get it from the company’s website by clicking below. There’s currently a 15% off promotion too!
