Stuck behind a desk all day? That’s no excuse not to sneak in some exercise. Health experts say that a sedentary lifestyle can lead to metabolic disorders, an increased risk of certain cancers, cognitive decline, heart attack, stroke, muscle loss, depression and, of course, weight gain. Fitness aficionados call exercise the Fountain of Youth. Many in both of these groups recommend getting up every hour and doing ten minutes of exercise such as taking a walk around the block or walking the stairs in your office building. But don’t despair if you’re stuck at your desk. You can still work your muscles during office hours.
