HOT FLASHES? I’M COOL WITH coldfront!

coldfront for Hot Flashes

The Food and Drug Administration has just approved a lower dose version of paroxetine (Brisdelle™,) a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) used for depression, for the treatment of hot flashes. It’s not news to many women who suffer with menopausal symptoms that anti-depressants are often prescribed “off-label” by physicians. The FDA studied the effects of different doses of paroxetine to ease hot flashes as opposed to depression, prior to approving it and found that 7.5 mg. did the trick. This is a much lower dose than that used to treat depressive disorders but there’s a better, non-invasive, non-chemical way to treat hot flashes. I’ll get to that in a sec …

Hot flashes suck. I should be the poster child for hot flashes, I suffer so. My hot flashes have nothing to do with flashes at all. They are brutal, lasting anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes and occurring almost hourly. I have always had a severe reaction to heat and have never been a huge fan of summer because of it. Now I live in an endless summer.

I’ve tried lots of remedies including OTC supplements, sleeping with a fan near my bed, water-chilled pillows that sprung leaks because my cats like to sleep near my head. I must have tried everything short of traditional hormone replacement therapy and anti-depressants. That’s where I drew the line – and then I found coldfront®.

coldfront's Susie Hadas
coldfront inventor Susie Hadas

coldfront, the world’s first on the go and on demand personal cooling kit with patented Recool Technology, was invented by Susie Hadas, founder and president of Personally Cool Inc.  Briefly, coldfront is a cooling system that includes three gel packs in an ingenious case that, after being initially frozen for twelve hours, stays cold for up to twelve hours outside the freezer. Away from the house and flashing? No need to constantly refreeze the gel packs. After use, replace them in their case and they refreeze within twenty minutes. The best part about coldfront is that it works. I take it everywhere and I’ve reviewed it for readers of EverBeautiful.com. I use it for my hot flashes and to ease migraines. My husband, who takes niacin, uses it for medically induced hot flashes and my friends use it to alleviate their own hot flashes, soothe their grandchildren’s sunburns and to ease muscle aches. coldfront alleviates hot flashes, yes, but it has so many applications with NO SIDE EFFECTS, I think it should be a staple in everyone’s medical kit.

Susie has worked tirelessly to get the word of coldfront out to the public and the reviews have been amazing. She and the product have been written up in Forbes, The Washington Post, Oprah.com and many other media outlets including, of course, EverBeautiful.com. Susie has just received a patent for the product and has launched an Indiegogo campaign to help in her effort to keep producing coldfront so that everyone who needs and wants it can get it.

And that’s where you come in. Even a one dollar donation will help Susie and coldfront achieve its goal. coldfront’s Indiegogo campaign offers options to gift a coldfront to any of three organizations that need it. They include a South African charity for which coldfront will be provided to children as a non-toxic first aid solution and a charity designed to empower cancer survivors to live healthier lives.

Every dollar counts, no contribution is too small and each contribution will help others who need coldfront’s natural power of cool. (And, of course, you get bragging rights for helping to launch a product that, in my opinion as well as that of many others, belongs in every household.)

Please check out Susie’s Indiegogo campaign and, if you agree that coldfront is an awesome product, please donate to make sure that everyone who wants or needs coldfront can get it.
